Pedro Panizo, the current president of AEGEE-Europe, is the 24th president of Europe's largest interdisciplinary students' association. He is AEGEE's third president from Spain, member of AEGEE-Valladolid. He was elected in October 2001 at the general assembly in Ankara. He followed up on Karina Häuslmeier (Passau), who was the first president since 1993 who stayed for a complete year. These short terms are is partly due to the stress during this exhausting voluntary work, but also partly due to the fact that the Presidents are students after all and have to return to their books and classrooms.
