Pedro Panizo, the current president of AEGEE-Europe, is the 24th president
of Europe's largest interdisciplinary students' association. He is AEGEE's third president from
Spain, member of AEGEE-Valladolid. He was elected in October 2001 at the general assembly in
Ankara. He followed up on Karina Häuslmeier (Passau), who was the first president since
1993 who stayed for a complete year. These short terms are is partly due to the
stress during this exhausting voluntary work, but also partly due to the fact
that the Presidents are students after all and have to return to their books and
classrooms.

Franck Biancheri was the founder of AEGEE. The former
Ecole speaker from Paris organised an international students' congress
in the French capital in May 1985, which became the starting point for today's
network of more than 250 local groups. Franck Biancheri, Honorary President of
our association, is currently living and working in Brussels.
Pavel Miladinovic-Cernoch was the first AEGEE-Europe president
from Central and Eastern Europe. He was elected at the Agora in Prague
in April 1993. He is now working for the EU delegation in the Czech capital.
Zsuzsa Kigyós was the first female AEGEE-Europe president.
She followed Pavel Miladinovic and was president in 1993/94. Zsuzsa Kigyós was
founding member of AEGEE-Budapest, one of the oldest local in
Central and Eastern Europe. She became Honorary Member at the Agora in
Budapest, November 1995.
Dorian Selz was president of AEGEE-Geneve, before he joined
the European level. He was president of AEGEE-Europe in 1994/95, until
the Agora in Montpellier. He is now working in St. Gallen, Switzerland.

1994 until April 1995. She was elected at the Agora in Montpellier and studied

European Schools and other training events.
The law student Christoph Strohm from Cologne was president
from November 1995 until April 1996. During his presidency AEGEE-Europe
moved its headquarter from Delft to Brussels. Although this was connected
with some problems in the beginning, the move to Brussels was a major step
in AEGEE's history.
Jordi Capdevila from Barcelona also stayed only for half
a year, just as his predecessors. During his term from April to November
1996 AEGEE established itself in Brussels. After finishing his studies, he
worked among others for the Catalan government and currently is employed
in Pristina, helping to rebuilding the country.
Gerhard Kreß was one of the most successful presidents
in AEGEE's history. His European board started several very important
projects. The successful work in Brussels was based on the very talented
and motivated members of his board. Gerhard Kreß finished his studies
in physics with an excellent diploma in 1996, in 1997/98 he was one of the
first Westerners studying at the Central European University in Budapest.
Between 1998 and 2001 he worked as business consultant for McKinsey in
Berlin.
